Bravado COD Change Things Up
NEWS | Abdullah 'anneKsiy' Adam | Call Of Duty | July 13, 2017

It’s been a relatively successful year for Bravado Gaming across all titles, however we have seen a few line-up changes, and here is yet another. In the Call of Duty camp Jordan ‘Scorpio’ Cupido has decided to step down and his replacement will be none other than Alton ‘Inferno’ Coetzee, who returns to the core Bravado Gaming line-up.
I asked Dillon “Lithium” Charalambous to provide us with some perspective and indicate as to why the change was made.
Initially we picked up Scorpio as a main player for our team however the tournaments were planned out differently and our long-term strategy has evolved into something more that we aim to achieve in the next 6-12 months. As a team, we felt it is best to start preparing now with our 18+ roster for our future ventures that are going to take place. Inferno has returned in place of Scorpio and is a solid fit for the team and we are looking forward to the rest of the season ahead! – Dillon ‘Lithium’ Charalambous
In addition, Andreas Hadjipaschali, CEO of Bravado Gaming had a few things to say.
Releasing Jordan from our contractual agreement and squad was a mutual one. As we get more and more involved in the COD scene, our plans change and our visions evolved. With this being said, we’re formulating a long-term strategy with the Call of Duty squad to venture into unseen territories in the future. Because of this we mutually decided that it would be best for Jordan to join an U18 squad, for his benefit, as well as ours as he agreed to.
Let me explain: Initially Jordan is an under 18 player, and was one of our core individuals. Many of the tournaments that pop up around the globe are over 18 tournaments and this leaves us in a simultaneous issue where for example: We would be practicing with Jordan, but then an over 18 event comes up (locally or internationally) – this would mean that Jordan would have to sit on the side-lines, not being able to play for another competitive MGO while we use an over 18 player to play that tournament. Because of this reason, for his sake and our sake we thought it would be best to create a line-up that won’t change based per event – for performance and practice reasons. Jordan is an extraordinary player and boasts fantastic qualities in his character. I have no doubt that he will become one of the best COD players on the African continent.
We wish Jordan all the best and at the same time, we welcome back Alton with open arms. With this being said and the changes I stated above, Hameed ‘Viper’ Moosa will also be stepping down into a coach/manager/reserve position so that we can maintain an over 18 squad without making changes to the line-ups based on the type of event. – Andreas ‘cent’ Hadjipaschali
The 5 man roster now consists of Freakz, Vadex, Lithium (c), Inferno and Viper as the coach & manager.
As usual the boys are pumped up and will be continuing to work hard. How does that old saying go? When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That’s what we’ve consistently seen from our Call of Duty team and I’m excited to see the results they will be bringing forth.
The roster will be used at the Electronics and Gaming Expo in Cape Town. The venue is none other than the Cape Town International Convention Centre. There will be a ton of games, toys and technology on show as well as the various competitions such as the VS Gaming Dota 2 Grand Finals, The Orena ESWC (2nd Qualifier) and the COD ACGL tournament which you can find more information on by heading over here. The dates it will be held are the 28th of July till the 30th of July. Be sure to plan your weekend accordingly as it is usually jam packed with over 20 000 attendees over the 3 days.
Try to come as early as possible, maybe even sneak a blanket in and get as near to the players as possible, I mean it is a LAN after all. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind some fans breathing down their necks and pestering them for autographs. Tickets are available online as well as at the door. The tickets are R20 cheaper online so I recommend picking them up as soon as possible. Bring along your friends and family, even if they aren’t into games, it’s a place where they’ll learn to love it! If you’re a scholar like me, you can easily rock up with your school uniform on Friday and pay only R20, yes, R20! For more information on the Expo, make sure you head over here.
