Deviant steps down, Blackpoison returns

It is with a heavy heart that Bravado Gaming bids farewell to one of our longest standing players in the Counter-Strike squad. Richard “Deviant” Groves has decided to step down from the Bravado core line-up and make way for us to implement a new 5th. With that being said, we welcome back Robby ‘Blackpoison’ Da Loca to the core line-up after his return from Sweden where he played in the Faceit Pro League (FPL) for a whole year.
It is with a heavy heart that Bravado Gaming bids farewell to one of our longest standing players in the Counter-Strike squad. Richard “Deviant” Groves has decided to step down from the Bravado core line-up and make way for a new 5th. With that being said, as sad as we are to see our good friend & team-mate depart, we are at the same time excited to welcome back an old individual of the Bravado Gaming family, Robby “blackpoisoN” Da Loca will be filling in as Bravado’s 5th player.
Bravado Gaming, South Africa’s Premier E-Sport organization strives not only to be the best in South Africa but also to be able to compete at an international level, and for that to happen players have to be able to commit fully to the team. Throughout many discussions and meetings with the team in recent weeks, Deviant decided to step down from the active roster. The main reason highlighted being whether or not he would be able to put in the equivalent hours as the rest of the team, falling back to Bravado Gaming’s and Detrony’s goal of “presenting the best possible lineup we can once we’re competing internationally again.”
Deviant has been part of the Bravado family since 2006 but made the decision for the better of the team as he feels he won’t be able to put the time and effort in, and with the Digital Gaming League registrations closing on the 24th Deviant concluded his decision sooner rather than later to give the squad some time finding a 5th.
Hunting for a 5th player with such little time is no simple matter, especially for aspirations as high as Bravado’s. But be it fate or otherwise Bravado Gaming found luck on their side when former team-mate blackpoisoN announced he will be returning to South Africa after his year in Sweden. For those of you who aren’t aware, blackpoisoN made the move to Sweden to improve his game and make a name for himself.
This timing was perfect for Bravado Gaming just as they needed a 5th player to fill in the gap left by Deviant and they got more than what they bargained for as blackpoisoN for the better part of his year in Sweden has been competing in the Faceit Pro League among other top tier professionals in the scene. Not only will his skill be welcomed but a new dynamic approach to the game from experience gained by playing with the best of the best will be present at Bravado Gaming and will help them take the next step to taking their game to the international stage.
A huge shout-out goes out to all our friends, followers and supporters for continuing to show your commitment to our squad. A huge shout-out to our sponsors: Alienware, Intel, Razer, Courier-It and Apex interactive for giving us all the opportunities to continue working from strength-to-strength.
