After Energy E-Sports players joined Bravado Gaming to form bvd.Black, a new Bravado team emerged called bvd.Blue, captained by Wesley ‘oDu’ Rose, a well known player from the old 2013 Bravado team that performed extremely well last year placing second at Rage 2013. The team is made up of likeminded individuals with a burning urge to become the best and enough dedication to do just that.
Their goal is to compete at the highest level possible both locally and internationally, growing as a team in the process. Win every local tournament they enter and gain more and more experience on the international stage to put both Bravado Gaming and South Africa on the map with regards to the international community. Here are some short descriptions of the bvd.Blue lineup so you can get to know the players a little bit better.
Role: Solo Mid
oDu started playing Dota around 2007 and has been hooked to t he game ever since. He has played for many clans over the years including KK and ASF before joining Bravado Gaming. His hunger to be the best keeps him playing and after a successful 2013 he is looking to reach new heights in the Dota 2 scene both locally and internationally. oDu believes this to be possible with hard work and dedication in the newly formed bvd.Blue.
Location: Cape Town
Role: Utility Support
Andrew "choseN" Ferguson, also known as Jumanji, has his roots in the original Dota, a spin-off map for the popular Warcraft 3 strategy game. The years honing his skills saw him play for some of the country's top teams. Never limited to a single role, Ferguson took his adjustable style of play to Dota 2. It was an easy transition, and very soon he was competing at the top level in the SA scene playing with the venerable and jazz-centered trolling outfit MfB. His move to Bravado has seen him cement his position as one of the country's top supports. He hopes that his new team will be able to go overseas and prove themselves at one of the big international competitions.
Location: Cape Town
Role: Offlane Solo
Darron ‘Lucker’ Reinhardt started playing Dota in 2007 and is completely addicted to the game. His dream is to play Dota 2 professional and strives every day to achieve that dream. He has played in many teams during the past two years but none of them had that right mixture of success he was looking for. Lucker believes that bvd.Blue has all the right ingredients to go really far both locally and internationally.
Mo Lawrence James
Role: Hard Support
Modase is more at home in the wilderness than in his formal home, yet he is a complete beast in Dota 2. He is currently enrolled at Rhodes University in Grahamstown where he is studying a BA that involves English, Political Science, History and Philosophy. Modase is incredibly passionate about competitive gaming and although he believes one has to take everything in moderation, he maintains dedication to his team, a discipline acquired from playing hockey that translates exceptionally well to Dota 2.
Location: Port Elizabeth
Role: Hard Carry
Stuart ‘Disappoint’ Pearson has been playing Dota for close to seven years and it has been a big part of his life, not just a passing hobby. He has tried his exceptionally skilled hands at other games such as CS, HoN, LoL, Cod4 and even StarCraft, yet stuck with Dota because of how much he enjoyed it. Dissapoint got into the competitive scene three years ago when he joined ASF. That first taste of competitive gaming made Disappoint strive to become a better player and rise to the top of the South African Dota 2 scene. Confident in the very talented players that make up bvd.Blue, Disappoint is very excited about the future of bvd.Blue and I do not think he will be disappointed!
What Wesley 'oDu' Rose had to say
“Being a recently formed squad, we will use the start of the year as a growth phase, we were will learn more about each other and improve synergy and teamwork. Towards the middle of the year bvd.Blue wants to take South African Dota 2 to the next level and strife to become a tier 2 team, doing well in open international tournaments and begin to get recognized. If we succeed in this then the sky's the limit!
We are a very passionate team and we intend to work hard and are dedicated in order to achieve our goals.”
The team is filled with exceptionally skilled players that are dedicated to becoming the absolute best in South Africa and compete on the international stage. Under the leadership of Wesley ‘oDu’ Rose, I can not wait to see how this new formed team performs during the Summer Leg of the 2014 Do Gaming League (DGL) Premier Division and various international tournaments this year.
Have you watched any of the team’s recent games in the DGL? How well do you think they will do on the international front? Who is your favorite player in the bvd.Blue?
