Weekly team update
NEWS | Abdullah 'anneKsiy' Adam | Bravado | September 23, 2017
It’s been quite some time since the last update article and within the time between the two there have been quite a few topics and updates to discuss. As usual, we will be getting the inside scoop from the captains and players of our various professional gaming teams to give us a better understanding as to what has happened recently to keep you up to date with all our happenings!
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Our Call of Duty team captain Lithium had this to say about the past few weeks:
We have not played any major tournaments as of yet, our most recent tournament has been the ACGL 2v2 and we managed to enter two teams and place first and second respectively. Other than that we are currently preparing for the VS Gaming Championships and are looking to bring the trophy home. – Dillon ‘Lithium’ Charalambous
With our brand new Call of Duty line-up, the boys are extremely hard at work to prepare themselves as best as possible for the upcoming VS Gaming Championships as we have been having an eye on that first place position since we reacquired a Call of Duty team. As far as Call of Duty World War 2 goes, everyone cannot wait to get their hands on the full release, which is definitely a good sign for next year. You can read more about our line-up by heading over to the team page here.
Bravado Gaming wins the ACGL 4v4 24 September
Our latest achievement for our COD squad includes the recent ACGL 4v4 tournament that took place on Sunday the 24th of September. This included Lithium (c), Clanko, Rahil and Koala (substitute as Inferno was unable to play). Our boys went on to take 1st place beating 50/50 Black 3-0 in the Grand Finals. You can find more information the the tournament and the brackets by heading over here. Alternatively, make sure you visit the ACGL website here.
Dillon also hosted a QnA video, recently on the official Bravado Gaming COD Youtube channel. Check it out below!
Defense of the Ancients 2
Another team that had undergone some roster changes was our DOTA2 team. The captain, Frank, managed to get a few words in between their incredibly busy schedule.
The only official we’ve played so far was vs eN where we won 2-0, as far as upcoming games are concerned, we don’t really have much. At the moment we are just working on our synergy and play style. – Mark ‘Frank’ Lehle
Our DOTA2 squad also recently attended the first boot-camp with the new squad, which took place at the Orena Gaming Lounge in Nu Metro, Emperors Palace. We’d like to thank the professional staff for accommodating our players in their top-tier gaming facility. You can read more about Orena here. Also check out the new line-up by heading over to the team page here. Below is a picture of the squad at their recent boot-camp, inside the Orena Gaming Lounge!
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Ruan ‘Elusive’ van Wyk gave us a brief update of what’s been going down in our CS:GO team:
Since the last article, we’ve managed to take first place in the qualifier for the main Masters LAN in October at rAge, thus ensuring a spot at the LAN. We’ve also gone undefeated in the Season 25 ESEA League, not dropping a single map. ESL is still in progress, but so far, we haven’t lost a single map either. Based on the results, we’ve already secured a spot at the main ESL event, despite having to play Energy eSports on Thursday (21st of September). Unfortunately, we won’t be able to field a full lineup for the last match, but we’re still confident in our ability to take the win! Lastly, we’ve been participating in the Orena Champions Series (OCS), without dropping a single map. – Ruan ‘Elusive’ Van Wyk
Bravado Gaming wins the ESL Africa Season 2
In a recent update, the Counter-Strike: GO squad has gone on to win the 2nd Season of the ESL Africa series, winning all but one game which they drew. The boys have qualified as a 1st seed for the grand finals which will be taking place at this years rAge-Expo, where the first ESL event will take place on African soil. In addition to all of this, the event will include the top 2 South African teams and the top 2 African teams who will be battling it out in a massive prize pool.
